Does this sound like the right fit for you?

We are looking for a Chef to work within our catering outlets and to support events across the University. In this role, you will have demonstrable experience of working in a fast-moving kitchen environment and ideally within a contract catering or a la carte establishment. You will be able to demonstrate how your experience can complement our own in-house services and improve teamwork.  You will have a good knowledge of standards and best practice within the catering sector and be an active and willing team member. You be responsible for providing effective and efficient high-quality catering to University staff, students and associated commercial hospitality business activities. This includes:

  • Residential Students
  • Day Students
  • In-Service courses
  • Academic and Administrative staff
  • Conferences
  • Functions

Skills and Experience for Success:

As a Chef, you will:

  • Have experience of maintaining the highest standards of food production and service, working to standardised recipes, and observing strict portion control.
  • Be able to work on own initiative and under pressure while meeting deadlines and working to agreed standards, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Have previous work experience in a large-scale catering environment.
  • Have experience of working with a HACCP or Safer Food Better Business Procedure and a good knowledge of working with allergens.
