About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Research Office as a Research Grant Application Manager and to help us take the next steps in terms of research funding, building on our record of improving research performance for the last decade. You will have the chance to make a clear and very significant impact in the University's performance on research income, the Research Excellence Framework, and the Knowledge Exchange Framework.

You will join a small but growing team of pre-award support staff, working with academic colleagues across a range of disciplines.

About You

As Research Grant Application Manager, you will: 

  • Demonstrate a good awareness and understanding of how research at Higher Education Institutions is funded
  • Have experience of successfully providing bid support, including costing and pricing, preferably within a Higher Education environment
  • Be able to work accurately under pressure and to meet deadlines, demonstrating attention to detail
  • Have the ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships, including ability to build strong, productive and pro-active teams
  • Always maintain a professional approach with excellent demonstrable customer care skills, including ability to handle sensitive information in confidence
