Software Solutions Developer – (KTP Associate)

Based at Country Range, near Burnley, Lancashire. Fixed term for 36 months.

Work on a ground breaking project in the field of data science 

About You

You will have a good honours degree in a relevant computer science discipline along with experience in data mining and a strong understanding of agile software development. You will demonstrate in-depth knowledge of application development using a recognized object oriented language (e.g. Python, PHP, Java, JavaScript, C++ or C#) and be familiar with web application development with a focus on the development of web services. A good understanding of the development of database systems is also essential. 

You will be flexible and reliable with an innovative approach to problem solving.  Strong communication skills plus the ability to plan and organise will allow you to work effectively within the project team.

About the Role 

An excellent opportunity has arisen for you to play a key role in the delivery of an innovative knowledge transfer partnership, transferring knowledge from the University to our Partner (The Country Range Group) via the planning and delivery of a key software development project.

You will build significant new capacity in The Country Range Group and strengthen their position as a market leading foodservice group. The project will develop a smart management, member and customer insight information system, utilising deep learning from real-time business performance and market data, to drive growth through data-driven decision making. For the University, this project will allow for the demonstration of significant economic and societal impact of our research base.
