About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an Interim Head of Access and Participation to join the Student Recruitment Department.  You will be able to work at a senior level with staff across both academic and professional services to enable an understanding of the barriers that our widening participation applicants and students may encounter and develop robust and evidence-based solutions to ensure parity of opportunity and achievement.

About You

As an Interim Head of Access and Participation, you will have a detailed understanding of the current issues and debates in widening participation. You will have experience of leading successful projects, to deliver measurable outcomes, working in a matrix management environment and chairing working groups

You will have highly developed team working and collaboration skills, with a demonstrable ability to persuade and influence colleagues and stakeholders. You have excellent written and presentation skills with the ability to produce analytical and statistical reports. You are also able to successfully liaise and network with a wide range of individuals and organisations and build highly effective working relationships.

You will benefit from 25 days annual leave plus 13 bank holiday and University closure days per annum. We aim to provide our staff with a positive work life balance and have a range of schemes in place to support this. Your continued professional development is as important to us as it is to you and we demonstrate this through our investment in your CPD activity.

You will be automatically enrolled into the Local Government Pension Scheme and have access to our staff benefits platform, which provides you with discounts across the high street to help you save money on your everyday spending such as supermarket shopping, cinema tickets, dining out and more.
