About the Role

As Senior Academic Lead for Admissions you will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of admissions across the MB ChB and Physician Associate programmes. The postholder will lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of admissions strategy, including selection methodologies, widening participation activity, evaluation processes, and contributions to programme validation and enhancement.

As a senior academic leader within the medical school, the postholder will contribute to programme governance and form part of the MB ChB programme leadership structure, providing governance for admissions processed inline with GMC standards. 

Where appointed as a full time senior lecturer you will also contribute to teaching, assessment, curriculum delivery and student engagement activities within the MB ChB and Physician Associate programmes, in line with expertise and role allocation.

About You

You will be an enthusiastic and collaborative professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a strong commitment to delivering an outstanding student experience. As a Lecturer in Specialist Teaching and Assessment for Literacy-Based Difficulties (Dyslexia) within the School of Education, you will be responsible for planning, teaching and assessing on our PGCert Specialist Teaching and Assessment for Literacy-Based Difficulties (Dyslexia) programme. You will also provide specialist teaching across other programmes within the Faculty in relation to Dyslexia and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), as well as contributing to our wider external continuing professional development and knowledge exchange activities.

About the Role

As Lecturer in Education Mental Health Practitioner Training, you will have the opportunity to Teach on and assess the work of Education Mental Health Practitioners, Senior Wellbeing Practitioners and Supervisors working in Mental Health Support Teams.

You will also act as a link between Edge Hill University and the Mental Health Support Teams where trainees are based to ensure holistic pastoral and academic support for the students.

About the Opportunity

Edge Hill University (EHU) in collaboration with Stockport County Football Club invites applications for an exciting yearlong MRes opportunity focused on the objective monitoring of physical demands across an elite Academy. The successful candidate will work directly with the sports science and medical departments, where appropriate. In this position the successful applicant will be working alongside the coaching and support staff during training and match days to aid the preparation and development of the squads. Alongside this applied work, the data collected as part of this role will inform the candidate’s MRes project, with supervision provided by academic staff at EHU. 

• About The Research Project

Previous research has considered the objective monitoring of elite football to consider internal and external loading, with implications for performance and injury. Less consideration has been given to academy players, particularly considering the age-specific use of loading thresholds, and the implications of playing across multiple age groups. This project will aim to quantify the age-specific demands of Academy football and the objective monitoring of recovery. Objective monitoring will include the collection, analysis and interpretation of GPS data in addition to other musculoskeletal profiling tools where appropriate. 

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

• Contributing to the sports science support of Academy players across all age groups
• Collation & analysis of GPS data from match-play and training
• Implementation and analysis of a match day + 2 standardised profiling battery
• Produce high quality and informative feedback for players and staff
• Contribute to the development of profiling practice within the club

Candidates invited to interview will be required to deliver a 10-minute presentation on the research project. 

The successful applicant will be required to start on the 26^th September 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. This is for a full-time MRes position.
