            <p id="isPasted">We are now seeking an experienced and proactive Project Manager to join the team.</p><p><strong>About the Role</strong></p><p>Reporting to the Head of Projects &amp; Programme Delivery, you will manage a diverse portfolio of maintenance, refurbishment, infrastructure and capital projects across the University estate.</p><p>Operating within the University&rsquo;s Estates &amp; Infrastructure governance framework, you will support the delivery of integrated annual and multi-year investment programmes aligned to operational priorities, asset management objectives and the University&rsquo;s wider strategic ambitions.</p><p>The role will involve managing projects through the full lifecycle, including:</p><ul><li>feasibility and option appraisal</li><li>procurement and contractor management</li><li>project delivery and commissioning</li><li>stakeholder engagement and reporting</li><li>handover and post-project review</li></ul><p>You will work closely with Estates Operations, Procurement, Finance, academic departments and external consultants and contractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, effectively and with minimal disruption within a live Higher Education environment.</p><p>As part of the University&rsquo;s ongoing commitment to redeployment, please note that this vacancy may be withdrawn at any stage of the recruitment process if a suitable redeployee is identified.</p><p>For informal enquiries about this vacancy, please contact Dave Stanbury Interim Head of Projects &amp; Programme Delivery.             <p id="isPasted"><strong>About the Role</strong></p><p>The Estates Health and Safety Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the effective delivery of occupational health and safety across Estates Services at Edge Hill University. Working within a large and diverse Facilities Management department, the role supports the University&rsquo;s overall health and safety strategy through the development, implementation and monitoring of Estates specific health and safety plans. These plans ensure consistent standards of compliance, risk management and best practice across all operational teams.</p><p>As an experienced health and safety professional, the postholder will provide authoritative advice and professional expertise to colleagues across Estates Services and the wider Facilities Management function. The role involves close collaboration with the University&rsquo;s central health and safety team to ensure that local policies, procedures and systems align with corporate requirements and remain legally compliant and fit for purpose.</p><p>The postholder will have responsibility for advising on health and safety arrangements associated with maintenance and construction activity across the estate, including compliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015. This will include supporting both in house teams and externally contracted services, reviewing contractor documentation such as risk assessments, method statements and permits to work, and contributing to tender and pre contract health and safety evaluations.</p><p>The role also includes overseeing elements of accident investigation and reporting, monitoring health and safety performance trends, contributing to compliance focused working groups such as fire safety, asbestos and water hygiene, and supporting the maintenance of ISO 45001 accreditation. You will have a strong understanding of current health and safety legislation and best practice, and the confidence to apply this knowledge practically within a busy, multi disciplinary estate.</p><p>You will have experience of leading or influencing health and safety culture change, supporting managers and operational teams to meet their responsibilities and improve performance. You will be comfortable providing clear, pragmatic advice, reviewing risk and compliance documentation, and working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, including contractors, technical specialists and senior managers.</p><p>You will also be analytical in your approach, able to identify trends in health and safety performance data and use this information to inform planning, reporting and continuous improvement.
