            <p id="isPasted"><strong>About the Role</strong></p><p>The Estates Health and Safety Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the effective delivery of occupational health and safety across Estates Services at Edge Hill University. Working within a large and diverse Facilities Management department, the role supports the University&rsquo;s overall health and safety strategy through the development, implementation and monitoring of Estates specific health and safety plans. These plans ensure consistent standards of compliance, risk management and best practice across all operational teams.</p><p>As an experienced health and safety professional, the postholder will provide authoritative advice and professional expertise to colleagues across Estates Services and the wider Facilities Management function. The role involves close collaboration with the University&rsquo;s central health and safety team to ensure that local policies, procedures and systems align with corporate requirements and remain legally compliant and fit for purpose.</p><p>The postholder will have responsibility for advising on health and safety arrangements associated with maintenance and construction activity across the estate, including compliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015. This will include supporting both in house teams and externally contracted services, reviewing contractor documentation such as risk assessments, method statements and permits to work, and contributing to tender and pre contract health and safety evaluations.</p><p>The role also includes overseeing elements of accident investigation and reporting, monitoring health and safety performance trends, contributing to compliance focused working groups such as fire safety, asbestos and water hygiene, and supporting the maintenance of ISO 45001 accreditation. Reporting to the Campus Support Manager, you will provide essential logistical, administrative and system‑based coordination that enables the service to operate smoothly and respond effectively to day‑to‑day operational demands and major University events.</p><p>The role includes ownership of several core operational systems and processes, including coordination of the University&rsquo;s vehicle fleet, parking permit administration, access control systems and supplier contract reviews. You will work closely with internal teams, external suppliers and key stakeholders to ensure services are well managed, compliant and aligned with operational needs.</p><p>You will also provide vital administrative and coordination support to the Campus Support management team, contributing to areas such as budget monitoring, data collation and reporting, incident and operational reporting, emergency planning activity, and compliance with statutory information requests. You will be confident handling data, maintaining accurate records, supporting reporting requirements and using information to support service improvement. Experience of fleet coordination, access control systems, parking administration, supplier liaison or event logistics would be particularly beneficial.</p><p>You will demonstrate a strong customer‑focused approach, professionalism and discretion, with an understanding of the importance of confidentiality and compliance within a university environment.             <p id="isPasted">We&rsquo;re here to create and harness knowledge, to deliver opportunity for everyone.</p><h2>About the Role</h2><p>As Associate Director Legal and Compliance Services, you will act as a trusted advisor to the University Executive and internal stakeholders at all levels, supporting the University&rsquo;s legal and contractual needs, and managing, advising on and mitigating legal risks .</p><p>You will lead the Legal and Compliance Services team, providing in house legal advice to support a wide range of business activities, and strengthen frameworks to ensure University wide legal compliance, delivering strategic guidance across legal matters and overseeing specialist teams covering data protection, immigration and consumer law.&nbsp;</p><p>You will form good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and act as a gatekeeper for external legal advice where appropriate. You will have significant post qualification experience within a complex, regulated environment ideally within higher education, plus a strong track record in service delivery and team leadership.</p><p>You will have proven experience, ideally in contracts, litigation, regulatory compliance, intellectual property and commercial partnerships. You will have a good understanding of the regulatory environment for Higher education, including the Office for Students and Office of the Independent Adjudicator frameworks.</p><p>You will demonstrate an aptitude for and commitment to engaging with sector networks and maintaining your professional awareness of emerging legal issues within the Higher Education sector.
