            <p id="isPasted"><strong>About the Role</strong></p><p>The Estates Health and Safety Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the effective delivery of occupational health and safety across Estates Services at Edge Hill University. Working within a large and diverse Facilities Management department, the role supports the University&rsquo;s overall health and safety strategy through the development, implementation and monitoring of Estates specific health and safety plans. These plans ensure consistent standards of compliance, risk management and best practice across all operational teams.</p><p>As an experienced health and safety professional, the postholder will provide authoritative advice and professional expertise to colleagues across Estates Services and the wider Facilities Management function. The role involves close collaboration with the University&rsquo;s central health and safety team to ensure that local policies, procedures and systems align with corporate requirements and remain legally compliant and fit for purpose.</p><p>The postholder will have responsibility for advising on health and safety arrangements associated with maintenance and construction activity across the estate, including compliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015. This will include supporting both in house teams and externally contracted services, reviewing contractor documentation such as risk assessments, method statements and permits to work, and contributing to tender and pre contract health and safety evaluations.</p><p>The role also includes overseeing elements of accident investigation and reporting, monitoring health and safety performance trends, contributing to compliance focused working groups such as fire safety, asbestos and water hygiene, and supporting the maintenance of ISO 45001 accreditation. The role leads complex workstream delivery, manages cross-functional dependencies, and ensures that system, process, and organisational change is delivered effectively, compliantly, and at pace.</p><p>This is a key post that will contribute to the ambitions of the University&rsquo;s Student Record Systems implementation programme ensuring aspects of the projects strategic priorities are implemented effectively.</p><p>Operating as part of the Programme Leadership Team, the role holds end-to-end accountability for capability workstream outcomes including system design, process transformation, data readiness and organisational adoption. You will be responsible for setting direction, determining priorities, allocating work and assuring quality across their workstream, with direct responsibility for supervising and leading Junior Business Analysts and assigned workstream resources on a day-to-day basis.</p><p>You will work in close partnership with senior academic leaders, professional services heads and enabling workstream leads, shaping how the University operates in a post-implementation environment.</p><p>You will be accountable for delivery defined areas of the Minimum Viable Product (MVP), ensuring workstream requirements are prioritised, validated, and aligned to project objectives.
