About the Role

The department of Social Work and Wellbeing is a well-established and successful department within the Faculty of Health, Social Care and Medicine. The current portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes have experienced a growth in popularity over recent years, reflected in an increase in applications. These are contemporary and exciting programmes which aim to develop graduates who are highly employable and well equipped to work in the field of health and social care.

The department is dynamic, forward thinking, innovative and research active, delivering a variety of mental health related qualifications. Our suite of programmes offers diverse opportunities for our students, whilst the diverse backgrounds of the academic team complement each other, leading to a collaborative and academically stimulating learning environment for both students and staff. Coming to work in our department, you will help develop and deliver dynamic learning programmes that meet the needs of learners and utilise a diverse range of teaching and learning strategies.

You will make a significant contribution to the delivery of our work-related learning and employability curriculum, contributing to the delivery of our modules on across the department and other areas of our core curriculum depending on your areas of expertise and experience. You will work closely with students, colleagues, central services and practice partners to meet the diverse needs of learners and contribute effectively to the design, planning and administration of the curriculum including preparation of your own teaching and learning materials and course documentation.

About You

You will be an enthusiastic and friendly professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a commitment to providing an excellent student experience. You will be able to effectively apply learning to real life situations, delivering research informed teaching with practical and skilful experience. You will also hold experience in coordinating placement and/or employability activity within a Higher Education setting.

To be successful you will further enrich our student’s experience through your expertise and subject knowledge as evidenced through your qualifications and extensive experience of professional practice within the Health and Social Care setting. In return, you will join a forward thinking and dynamic team that pushes the boundaries of curriculum development
