We’re here to create and harness knowledge, to deliver opportunity for everyone.
About the Role
This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of advanced clinical practice education within a supportive and innovative environment. As Senior Lecturer, you will lead MSc ACP programmes, influence curriculum development, and work with state-of-the-art clinical simulation facilities. The position provides scope for leadership, collaboration with clinical and academic partners, and ongoing professional development, including CPD and research opportunities.
Your main duties and responsibilities will include:
- Leadership in Programme Delivery and Curriculum review and development. Provide leadership in the design, planning, delivery, and quality assurance of MSc Advanced Clinical Practice programmes (direct entry and apprenticeship), ensuring high teaching standards and innovative learning approaches.
- Student Support and Mentorship. Oversee student welfare, progression, assessment, and personal development; act as a personal tutor and postgraduate supervisor, and support workplace-based learning and assessment.
- Team Leadership and Collaboration. Contribute to internal and external teaching teams, fostering effective collaboration to maximise impact. Ensure all contributors are well-prepared and aligned with programme objectives, while maintaining high standards of teaching, learning, and professional practice.
It is standard practice for a Grade 10 Senior Lecturer to engage in research activities. However, as this position is offered at 0.6 FTE, the primary focus and priority will be on teaching responsibilities, alongside contributions to Teaching, Learning & Scholarship, Student Support, and Leadership, Service & Externality, with particular emphasis on the teaching and student-facing aspects of the role. However, there may be scope to contribute to the research activities of one of our Research Units and meet the qualitative and quantitative requirements for submission to the next Research Excellence exercise.
