About the Role

The department of Social Work and Wellbeing is a well-established and successful department within the Faculty of Health, Social Care and Medicine. The current portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes have experienced a growth in popularity over recent years, reflected in an increase in applications. These are contemporary and exciting programmes which aim to develop graduates who are highly employable and well equipped to work in the field of health and social care.

As Lecturer in Counselling and Psychotherapy, you will be required to make a significant contribution to the delivery of our suite of programmes, contributing to the delivery of our modules on Counselling and Psychotherapy and other areas of our core curriculum depending on your areas of expertise and experience.

You will be expected to contribute to the research activities of one of our Research Units and meet the qualitative and quantitative requirements for submission to the next Research Excellence exercise.

About You

You will be an enthusiastic and friendly professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a commitment to providing an excellent student experience. Experience of teaching in Higher Education with relevant subject knowledge as evidenced through qualifications, prior teaching experience or research is essential.

You will have knowledge and experience of delivering Counselling and Psychotherapy underpinned by differing modalities and hold excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

You will be proactive and dynamic in your approaches to teaching, learning and assessment and able to reflect on your own skills and knowledge and posses a keen interest and enthusiasm in your subject area and a creativity to how you will impart knowledge and understanding.

To be successful you will further enrich our student’s experience through your expertise and subject knowledge as evidenced through your qualifications and extensive experience of professional practice.
