About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Director of Finance to join our Finance Team, you will lead and manage a high effective Finance Team providing an innovative, business-focused, high-quality, customer service which is aligned to the strategic aims of the University.

Your main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring statutory accounts for the University and subsidiary companies are produced and management accounting information is provided to key decision makers and budget holders.
  • Delivering an efficient and effective service which supports multiple stakeholders demands.
  • Meeting financial needs of the University staff
  • Providing strategic leadership to the Finance Team.
  • Management of organisational risks arising
  • Supporting and deputize for the Director of Finance

About You

As Deputy Director of Finance, you will have:

  • Previous experience at an equivalent financial role within a pressurised environment with experience of financial reporting.
  • Knowledge of financial management procedures and controls.
  • Previous Line Management experience
  • Demonstrable strategic solution focused analytical approach
  • High levels of communication and relationship building
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Ability to clearly demonstrate a positive solution focussed approach
