About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an IT Service Desk Analyst to join the department of Technology within Digital, Data and Technology. The main focus of this role is to provide high quality technical support and proactive triage as the initial point of contact for all service users.

Your main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Providing excellent IT Service Desk support to all Edge Hill University users and external stakeholders
  • Providing IT fault diagnosis and resolution across a range of hardware platforms, operating systems and software applications
  • Providing one to one and group IT Service induction training for new staff, and specialist IT training and support for university systems, applications and standard software packages.
  • Ensuring IT Service Desk requests, queries and fault reports are logged appropriately on the Service Management system

About You

As IT Service Desk Analyst, you will have:

  • A strong combination of IT technical support knowledge and customer service skills
  • Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot issues across a range of IT hardware and software platforms
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers who have varying levels of IT understanding
  • High standard of communication skills both verbal and written
  • Linear and analytical thinking for problem solving
  • Ability to prioritise and work well under pressure
