 About the Role

 The faculty has been successful in securing National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) funding to set up and run an Integrated Clinical Academic Training Office (ICATO).   The ICATO office will be led by a manager based within the faculty working closely with the Faculty Admin Manager, the ICATO Academic leads, the Health Research Institute (HRI) and a full-time Grade 4 ICATO administrator.  The office will provide a high-quality management and administration service.  The HRI facilitates inter-disciplinary working with academics and health care practitioners to share research, knowledge, skills and expertise and provides infrastructure for the Student Research Society, Intercalated Degrees and Internships (IDI) Programme. 

 You will be responsible for setting up and maintaining a smooth-running student research society in conjunction with other medical schools at other HEIs; a medical student intercalation scheme drawing on programmes from other departments across the University as well as a funded internship scheme for healthcare students.

 There will also be the opportunity to work on specific projects to improve the student experience and contribute to the successful implementation of the Undergraduate medical MB ChB Programme.

 The Office will work closely with the Faculty Research team, the Medical School and the broader Faculty Schools such as Nursing and Midwifery, Allied Health Social Work and Wellbeing, as well as Departments across the other Faculties in the University and other HEIs.  

 About You

This will be a varied and interesting role which requires:

  • Excellent communication skills 
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise to meet deadlines to the required quality standards

The post holder will also have:

  • Successful experience of working or equivalent and understanding of the Higher Education sector
  • Experience of the co-ordination and management of administrative functions relating to teaching and learning, research as well as event management
  • Excellent personal organisational skills demonstrating the ability to manage a number of activities in parallel, meeting deadlines and working proactively
